In the past, we have created a nice bowl using adobe Photoshop and now we are getting ready to make another one. This time however, we are going to use Adobe Illustrator.

Step 01:
We are going to try and draw a beautiful vase and to start things off we are going to create a document of any size you want. Click on File-New and make it any size you want. Mine has the dimensions on the picture and then click OK.

Step 02:
The next thing to to is to set the grids on to make it easier to draw on. Click on View-Show Grid and a grid will be show in your drawing board.

Step 03:
Select the Pen Tool and then select a starting point and click on it. I choose the corner of a square and then I will draw a triangle like the one you see in the picture. Just click on the selected spots and the lines will draw themselves. This will end when you go back to the spot where you started.

Step 04:
Go back to the Pen Tool and this time select the Convert Anchor Point Tool and clicking on the tip of the Triangle and drag it to the right or left and do not release until you have a shape like the one in the picture.

Step 05:
Now select the Ellipse Tool and draw an elliptical shape like the one in my drawing. Just click on a spot and drag the mouse until you get the needed shape.

Step 06:
Use the Selection Tool and place the Elliptical Shape on top of your drawing so that It looks like my drawing. That will be the opening of your vase.

Step 07:
Now that you have the shapes in the right place, select them both by clicking on them while you hold Shift Down. Now click on the Subtract From Shape Area icon as shown in my work. This will cut out the elliptical shape out of my drawing .

Step 08:
Click on Effect-Stylize-Inner Glow and then a new little window will pop up. Select the options you see on my window or enter the options you want for your drawing. Once you are happy with your selections, click OK.

Step 09:
Draw another elliptical shape like you did earlier and give it a color a little darker than the one used in the vase. Select the shade of color you want and draw your shape. Now move it so that it fits the vase shape. Repeat the Effect-Stylize-Inner Glow and click OK.

Step 10:
Repeat the same process but this time, make the shape a little smaller and place in the center of the previous ellipse.

Step 11:
And here is your drawing all finished. Now you can use anywhere you want.
