In our series to create icons to personalize your computer, we are going to create a thermometer. Like we said earlier, you can use this icons to personalize your home computer and you can also use this designs in your web design projects.

Step 01:
We start with the thermometer shape and I have posted a clean drawing so that you can copy and paste it into your own drawing if you want.

Step 02:
Once you have the drawing in your canvas, you will go to Layer-Layer Style-Inner Glow. Select a nice shade of gray to use as your inner glow before you move on. Do not click OK until instructed.

Step 03:
Now select the Gradient Overlay where you need to create a Gray and White gradient for the shape.

Step 04:
Finally, select the Stroke. I am going to select 2 as the size and you need to select according to the size of your document.

Step 05:
We have now the first part of our drawing. Control-Click the layer to select the shape.

Step 06:
Click on Select-Modify-Contract and choose according to the size of your drawing.

Step 07:
Create a new layer Layer-New Layer and fill the new shape with a red color and then click Select-Deselect.

Step 08:
Go to Layer-Layer Style-Inner Glow and select a more darker shade of red for your Inner Glow. When you are done with your choices here, go to Stroke.

Step 09:
This is going to create an outline around the red shape and I have chose white with a size of 2. Click OK when you are done with your changes.

Step 10:
This is what we have so far.

Step 11:
Create a new layer Layer-New Layer and then draw a little rectangle like the one you see below. Fill it white and then click Select-Deselect.

Step 12:
Continue drawing lines to match the lines you see in the picture below. You can duplicate the layer as many times as needed to do this faster. Merge all the lines together making them visible and then clicking on Layer-Merge Visible.

Step 13:
Now you can create any of the Adobe Icons or any other icon following the same steps.

Step 14:
Now you can do whatever you want with it.
