This tutorial will teach you how to
create a sketch out of your favorite photograph. This sketches can be
colored later or you can make many tricks with them. There are many ways of
doing sketches and this method is only one of them.

To create this sketch tutorial we need
a picture we want to transform and I have this one. I will open it in
Photoshop and then I will duplicate it hitting Layer-Duplicate Layer. Now I
have the Original Layer and a copy of it I will call Sketch. This is just so
that I can save the picture in its original state.

Now we need to Desaturate our picture and to do so, we
click on Image-Adjustments-Desaturate. Duplicate the new black and white
picture and we have three layers: Original and two black copies.

Now we will invert the copy we just made by clicking in
Image-Adjustments-Invert.

Change the blend mode
to Color Dodge.

And finally we hit
Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur and we choose an appropriate Radius. Click OK
and you are all done.

Pass the mouse on top of the picture
to see the Before and After.
